Because they keep changing their logos... of course I did prefer the charm of the old himitsu logo, but this one was a real pain to make!

Made these ones ages ago, but never posted them.

Even though this one looks simple, all the curves had to be exactly perfect!

I wonder what this is.. xD Maou's favourite cafe? To what Canal Cafe was to Hakei?

Yesterday had lunch with Gwen, my Nino-buddy is flying back to Singapore soon! I'm gonna miss her T_T

And then, I just came back from a 4.5 hours mini arashi-kai (even though I'm still recovering lols).
See, I have these two RL friends (they're originally online friends from old fandom waay back years ago)... but recently! They've become ARASHI fans! So, "new found" Arashi-buddies in Melbourne! Although we've been good friends for years lols. One is Ohchan-baited, the other is Aibachan-baited xD
Thanks for the high-tension evening! Of course, the Japanese meals at our old meeting place is always great heh.

Ohno: on surface, an angelic lawyer who helps the weak...but underneath, a devil who plots revenge on his murdered brother...no one likes him...

Sho: angelic...devilish smile...absolutely no response from 55000 people here...

Nino: I have an announcement , too. I will be appearing on Maou's first episode.

Sho: just like our big brother appeared on Yamada Taro?

nino:can I ...say this??? what am I? what is my character...? it says "male"...well, I should understand ...
(sho is drinking water our of a plastic bottle) ...why are you drinking water ?

Aiba: ...sakurai kun looked like he wanted a drink...so I was opening the lid for him1

nino:...you shoud be a couple...

Aiba: well...Sho kun asked me if I already had a shower...he said that he was gonna let me wash his back for him...!

Jun:...well,,his hand is not yet healed completely...and his is not flexible...

Nino: so...did you end up washing your back yourself?

Sho: recently, I have been picking up a few techniques...put soap on the towel...then put this on to a hook...and ...like this (sho pretends to be washing his back using this new technique...)

nino; but he really has learnt a few techniques...

Aiba: eating with left hand...no problems!

Nino: oh, by the way...let's talk about Maou

Ohno: well, not just me but Nino appears in the first episode, and Toma is the passionate detective...

Toma appears on stage!

Sho: I have not seen you for ages!

Toma: Maou, Maou! Good evening...I am ikuta toma.

Sho: Toma-sama...what is Ohno san like at the filming? Is he speaking?

Toma: he does not speak much...

Jun: ...how he just sits and stare...we are used to it but people who are not used to it see it...

Sho: even when we did West Side Story, other people would often ask is Ohno kun OK? not feeling well?

Toma: there is a rumour like that ...well...you know...he goes fishing on his day off...but he is a lawyer...devil avenger...and he is tanned...he is told not to go fishing but he goes!

Sho: there should not be any day offs then...

Ohno: I am such a "rain man"...I get off the bus...and rain starts...so the filming stops and I get on the bus...the sun comes out...

Toma...a man who calls storm, Maou!

Nino: I did not want to get wet so I hid in a tunnel.

ohno: it never rains when I go fishing, tough

Nino: is it matter of attitude?

Ohno: I have no friends at filming location...I do not know how friendly I should be with people there...

Sho: ...?It's OK ...isn't it? (to be friendly)

Ohno: What do you think? It is difficult...conversation with Toma is awkward...

Jun: don't you talk during filming?

Toma: Oh-chan does such a great facial expression...It makes me think "wow...so cool, kakkoii~" it is such a transformation from a face of an angel to a face of a devil.

Sho: (sings) angelic devils' smile~

nino: Sho-san!

Aiba: you should apologise!

Sho: I am so sorry...

Nino: well. look forward to Maou

Sho: I am so looking forward to it...well, Toma...say a few words..

nino: what would be character's interesting points to watch out for?

Toma: well...I play a detective who is the target of Oh-chan's revenge...(jun is not paying attention)...are you not interested? hey, curly curly hair !

Jun: I am interested... well...is leader the only one making moves?

Toma: I am at mercy of Oh-chan's sophisticated plot for revenge...

Sho: I cannot wait...so looking forward t it...so please do not tell me the story!

Toma: oh, and we will appear on Tokyo Friend Park together.

Nino: I want Magic Goods (as a prize from TFP...LOL)

Ohno: I shall tell them...not that I can promise they will say yes...

Jun: you are gonna ask them?

Sho: when does maou start?

Ohno: from 4th july friday 10pm TBS station. Please watch it.

Toma leaves the stage...

Jun: those two are funny together...would make a good duo.

Aiba: "oh-chan" is not something many people use...

Sho: much better friends than I thought they were...

Jun: Toma is leading him...I remember ...West Side Story...I was fighting Toma and Leader was behind us in that scene...

Serious allegation against Ohchan!

The biggest enemy of filming during this season is "rain".

we film happenings in one day according to the scenario would be filmed over a few days...so if you film outside when it is raining, then scenes filmed on different days without rain would not connect...you cannot have rain and sunshine in one day disrupting the story...so if it starts raining, we have to stop filming.

So, filming during rain season gives us headaches...

BUT we have a strong alliance...
His name is Ikuta Toma.
I call him "good looking sunshine man" (well, no twist in naming)

Ikuta kun attracts sun.
Even if it is very cloudy, when Ikuta kun appears, the sun shines and becomes sunny.
Filming staff feel almost awed by his power to attract sunshine.

However, we also have strong enemy...
His name is Ohno Satoshi...

As soon as Oh-chan appear, cloud gather and big drops of rain start falling...
Weather report is just a pipe dream when you have Oh-chan.

The weather report announced it would be sunny in the morning...yet rain would start...
AND...as soon as Oh-chan leaves the filming site, the sun came out.

So, oh-chan is referred to as "rainman" at the filming site...
However, it suits the character of Maou...

Well, this drama, "rain" is actually a very important motif and important scenes are all in rain.
Why is it?
well, solving that puzzle would be part of fun watching Maou.

Maou Onsite Report Vol. 4

Vol.4 “超豪華ゲスト登場！！”

Very special guest appearance! !

Excellent casts gathered to appear regularly on Maou drama, however, it was decided that for the first episode, Arashi's Ninomiya Kazunari will appear!

I will give you a report on Ohno kun and Nnomiya kun's scene filmed the other day.

The day of the filming was a very hot day, a break from rain seeason, with the sun glaring.
However...those two must have been good boys! Filming was inside a tunnel so it was in a shade and the wind blew through the tunnel - so it was very comfortable filming condition. But both Ohno kun and Ninomiya kun had to wear suits, so unlike us staff (who must have worn light clothing) , they must have been still pretty hot...well...well done!

Ninomiya san arrived at the filming site with all smiles. When he was introduced as "first episode's special guest, Ninomiya Kazunari san!", staff clapped and cheered him. that's right...Maou's staff consist of many staf who also worked on Yamada Taro Monogatari from last year in which Ninomiya was cast as the leading character. So, he knew many of the staff. He was shaking hands and playing around with the staff and seemed very happy to meet the staff he worked with last year. However, when the filming started, he quickly wiped smiles off his face, played a "man" who faces Ohno-kun's character in all seriousness. he was also seen seriously discussing his character with Director Katou as well. There was a scene that showed Ohno-kun's face with no expression, and in stark contrast, Ninomiya kun glaring at Ohno kun...which sent shivers up my spine. The scene wound up to be very interesting. You cannot miss it!

Well, on the day of filming, many reporters came to the filming site hearing about Ninomiya san's appearance.
TV magazines, Idol magazines, Women's magazines...all together 13 publishers! As soon as they moved, cameras followed and it looked like some large scale relocatio of a tribe or something LOL.During the break, two of them were sitting side by side on chairs, seemed to be having fun talking with each other...and playing around...and from nowhere, cameras would appear and start taking photos. Ninomiya kun noticed, and said "look, we are getting the photos taken...let's see..." then they would do a "guts" pose, or hold hands (like a couple, clasping fingers ) responding in kind. If you are interested in seeing those scenes between the two, then please check out the magazines!

Once the filming was concluded, two of them were interviewed together. They were having such excellent conversation so I will report some of their conversation here. 　

―on Ohno-san's acting
nino: It is just great. His acting was so good that it made me think "have you ever seen such a great actor before in your life?"...he is just great just as I thought. 　

―what did you think of Ohno-san's "Maou's eyes"?
Nino: Once you look at them , its all over, isn't it? I dont think people have seen him look like that before. Probably a few times in his stageplays...so I would imagine people would be pleasantly surprised. 　　

―Filming of Maou with you took such short time...
Nino: It feels so irresponsible...LOL but if I get invited again, I will come again. And there are three more...(sakurai, aiba & matsumoto) in Arashi...

Ohno: you should appear all the way through...let's do the same scene over and over...

Nino: even if we did it, it would not be meaningful! it would be like rebroadcast...maybe there is a possibility other three would appear?

Ohno: I would love them all to appear...
　
―Tips for surviving summer drama (filming)?
Nino: well, in my case, everyone was freindly on the set...so I did not get knocked down by the heat or anything...I somehow survived whining to others "ah~ its so hot~...but from what I hear...Maou does not have any friends on his side...LOL

Ohno: that's just the character~

nino: well, he has no one he can talk and whine to...so it probably will be very difficult for him...

―Ohno-san 's character is meant to be a lawyer with a dark side...well...we do not feel "darkness" in Ohno-san...do you have a dark side?

nino: it is a chance...tell them! LOL　
ohno: well...I do have elements of darkness...as I play this character, I feel more and more darkness coming out...
nino: well...does that mean you have no dark side, then?
Ohno: ...basically, less than other people...so it makes it harder for me but I am doing my best concentrating on it...
nino: I guess someone with dark side playing this role would not be as interesting...a person without a dark side playing the character of Maou makes it interesting...doesn't it?

―is there a dark side of Ohno -san Ninomiya-san knows?
nino: 　 He was dark when he was young.
ohno: I am still young LOL 　
nino:　 He was "sharp" (spiky...? not sure how to translate this one...not sharp as in clever sharp...that is for sure...he meant more "dark" spiky personality...aloof? maybe? ) so sharp I could not believe there was a person who could be as sharp as he was...if you knew him back then, you would not have had any problem accepting that Ohno-san is cast as Maou...when he was in his teens, he was so dark I cannot even tell you how dark he was here...LOL he got "rounded" (mellowed I think...) ...he used to be sharp/spiky ...
Ohno: was NOT!
Nino: you were so... ! see? they do not realise it! those who were sharp/spiky in youth do not realise that they were! LOL
Ohno: Is that so? LOL
Nino: taht is right...it has been a long time seeing you being "sharp"

―please tell us scenes of interests in Maou drama
Ohno: it is my first experience with drama...so I was fumbling through at the beginning...but I think the atmosphere of the filming set will gradually improve...and I hope that I can concentrate and become a good Maou...well...not good...but BAD maou.
Nino: well, I will only be appearing in the first episode...but after that, continuing onto second episode, third episode... as the stories unfold, I am sort of expecting there is going to be development of a story...and when we realise "I was actually Maou" ! and at the end, if yo scratch the poster's ohno san's bit, it reveals Ninomiya Kazunari...that kind of development is highly anticipated by me...LOL well, I am thinking of a way to somehow become a regular cast...well, it is a very serious drama but the relationship of the characters are so well thought of...so...I think it would be nice if people could enjoy such element of this drama...hey, I said such a clever thing here LOL.

Well, laughter never stopped during the interview just as you can imagine from the above report. Ohno-kun seemd to be relaxed thanks to Arashi member on filming site and he seemed to speak a lot more than usual.

Such two good friends cast on opposite side...you should not miss it!Well...Ninomiya kun is hoping to become Maou instead of ohno kun...LOL Well, the scene would be a rare one which can be only seen on 4th July...don't miss it!

Maou Onsite Report Vol. 3

Vol.3 “続々クランクイン！”

Casts start filming...!

In the report Vol. 2, I wrote about the two leading actors starting filming...but of course, other casts have also started filming~!

Heroine of this drama, Kobayashi Ryoko chan who plays Sakata Shiori started her filming with a scene with Naruse.
成瀬と2人のシーンから。Her character is librarian...so the filming started with a scene in a library. She did not act like it was her first day of filming...greeted us in high spirit saying "I will do my best! looking forward to working with you!" smiling friendly.

She seemed to be very relaxed, talking with ohno kun saying things like "I am a bit worried about finishing my uni assignment on time..." and " I am thinking of training to strengthen my body..." etc. and playing around with Make up artist during the filming.
Of course there were times where she got serious talking about her character with the producer Takahashi and Director Katou!

The scene filmed this day was where Naruse went to borrow research material to use in his lawyer job from a library and Shiori happened to be there...but the relationship between those two may develop and become something you should be paying attention to...so look forward to it!

On the other hand, on the day Tokyo had very heavy rain, Serizawa family started filming. the scene was where Serizawa family was hosting a gorgeous party at their huge mansion. in the elegant atmosphere, which was in contrast to the atmosphere of the outside with thunder and lightning, Gekidan Hitori, who plays Naoto's brother, Ishizaka Kouji who plays Naoto's father and other superstars gathered together and filming started.

During the filming break, I found that Ishizaka san was looking very closely at furniture at the filming studio. When I asked about it, he replied saying that he liked this chair but he was told the chair was no longer in production, so he could not get it, well, the same chair were right there at the studio...many of them!

He seemed disappointed, saying " I cannot believe they are here!" Ishizaka is such a superstar...yet he is very kind and chatted with staff in a friendly way, put the nervous staff at ease.

gekidan Hitori san seemed to be having fun talking with Ikuta kun who plays his brother, and tanaka Kei kun who plays his secretary. Apparently they were having fun talking about a story that Gekidan Hitori's body does not contain any muscle...Ikuta kun touched Gekidan Hitori's stomach and was saying "that is true!", laughing his head off.
It seems brothers are getting along wel, hit it off from the start.

An extra story here...on the day of filming, food used for the filming was actually top class real french created by a chef from a french restaurant. Ikuta kun could not help but asked " could I eat some?" , sneaking a bite, exclaiming "delicious!" LOL
